Creating Hot Video Clips on your Desktop

Making a hot video clip on your desktop is really simple and easy. Believe me, you don't even need a video camera or a video clip! Of course you need some good pics either of you or some good scenes that you may have shot on a trip or even funny pics of your pet.

First open the windows movie maker ( which comes with XP) and start a new project. Click Import pics/images on the left side and select the images from your computer. Once you see the thumbnails in side the movie maker just drag them to the time line below or right click and select add to time line. You will find them on the time line in the bottom section of the movie maker. Now go ahead and select some mp3 or cool music - and no problem if it is short - you can right click and do copy paste on the time line until the end of the audio touches the end of the video ( images ) time-line above. If it is long then you need to cut it off first or right click and select fade out so that it ends with the video.

You can test your progress anytime by clicking the play button as a preview. Once the video and audio is done you can select add title from the left screen. In the title screen all you need to do is type in a few words as a title or some description of the video - edit text by clicking the edit font and style button and then select title animation - there are many options for these and you can preview the effect on the preview screen to the right. After selection click "done add title" and it will appear on the time line - do the same if you want to add something on the end or in the middle of the clip.

You can drag and change position of any title or image or even extend the duration by simply dragging the right edge of the item ( image, sound or title) . Test it out - viewers today do not like longer durations so keep it short and brief.

The final thing which needs to be done is transition from one image or one scene to the other - click on the transition button and you will have a selection in front of you - click on to see which you like - once finalised - select two side by side ( consecutive) by clicking them while keeping the Ctrl key pressed. Now drag the transition from above and place it on them - you are done.

Once complete you need to select - "save the file to your computer" and go through two steps - this is the part where your project gets saved as a real mpeg movie! You can safely click yes for all the options except typing a name for the movie and the programme will do the rest.

You may also save the entire project by selecting "save" from the top menu and naming the project - do this only if you want to work again or modify this project. Other wise you can choose not to save as the movie you made is already saved.

Now you can go ahead and show you creation to the world - Click this site Hotclips and create a Free user account for 500 mb of space enough to hold 50 videos of 10 mb each. Upload your clip - put in some description, select the appropriate channels ( showcase is a good channel for such clips) and there you go! Believe me if the creation is real good - these people will feature it on the home page.

Currently we saw a user generated content on bollywood celebrities - just created out of images with a awesome sound track. Check it here before you start your own clip.
